EXTERIOR DOORS & ODOURS
________________________________________

When the exterior entry doors at The Gallery are left open (e.g. moving area doors, front entry door, etc.), odours may seep into the common areas due to reverse air flow.

Odours may also enter the building when the make-up air system is shut-down or the access doors to the mechanical penthouse or rooftop are left open.  These doors are typically held open when window washing, mechanical service or elevator testing is being performed.

There may be other times when contractors are performing service for The Gallery which requires the exterior doors to be left open.  Whenever these services are being performed, a member of the Staff will be available to monitor the doors.

Management would like to remind all residents to please manually close all suite and building doors, if possible, when this situation is evident.

Thank you for your cooperation.

ELEVATOR DISRUPTION
________________________________________

During a power outage or the testing of the fire alarms and emergency generator, there may be some disruption in the operation of the elevators.  During the monthly fire alarm test, there will be a temporary total shutdown of the elevators for 2 to 5 minutes.

The date and times of any testing will be posted in the elevators and on the lobby bulletin board or you may receive a phone message from the office.

Commencing in February of 2015, fire alarm testing is scheduled for the second Wednesday of every month at approximately 10:30 a.m.

These tests are required under the Fire Safety Code and are necessary to ensure your safety.

Staff will be on hand during all testing and will attempt to keep any inconveniences to a minimum.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Management.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS MOVING
IN OR OUT OF THE GALLERY
THE recycling and garbage rooms on each floor ARE NOT intended for moving debris or disposal of anything other than daily household refuse.
ANY IMPROPERLY PACKAGED REFUSE MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE GARBAGE CHUTE AND CAUSE A BLOCKAGE.

IF YOU ARE MOVING IN:
It is each resident’s responsibility to ensure that their movers take any packing debris or that this debris is deposited directly in the bulk garbage bins located on the ground level. Do not force any debris though the chute or place any item down the chute which may expand to create a blockage.

As you unpack your belongings, kindly deposit any cardboard boxes or packing debris in the designated bins. If moving debris is left in any of the garbage or service rooms which can be traced to a resident, that resident will be requested to remove and properly dispose of this at their sole expense.

IF YOU ARE MOVING OUT:
Please make arrangements with staff to have access to the bulk containers located on the ground floor for the disposal of larger debris. Do not force any debris though the chute or place any item down the chute which may expand to create a blockage.

It is each resident’s responsibility to pay for the pick-up of any refuse or household furnishing which is not collectable by Halton Region. Staff can assist you in finding an appropriate disposal firm for this purpose. If moving debris is left in any of the garbage or service rooms which can be traced to a resident, that resident will be asked to remove and properly dispose of this at their sole expense.

If in doubt about how your moving debris should be packaged or where it should be left, please ask a staff member for proper disposal instructions.

Residents, just a few reminders to keep The Gallery running smoothly and looking its best.

General:

Residents who have visitors to The Gallery Building must supervise children at all times if they are in common areas of the building.

Residents should not call building contractors directly, any requested repairs or work which is the responsibility of The Gallery should be requested through the Property Manager and/or Maintenance.

Garbage and Recycling:

Please do not put garbage in the bin that is in the garbage shed, I need to keep one bin empty so I can exchange them weekly and have them washed out. Please leave all large bags of garbage in the garbage room.

Please do not put food or clothing in the blue bin.

Wash out any jars or containers before throwing in the blue bin to avoid odours.

Please break down boxes before putting in the blue bin.

Safety and Security

It is the responsibility of the residents to be sure doors are locked properly. If you have contractors using the move-in room, be sure to have them lock the door with the top and bottom pins so the door is securely locked and no one can gain access from outside.

As you exit any door in the building, be sure it closes and locks completely behind you.
