Cardiac Arrest Procedure

Here's what to do when someone is in cardiac arrest:

  1. Call 911 and call for someone nearby to help.
  2. Set the AED on the same side of the patient as you are.
  3. Press the ON button.
  4. Remove clothing from the patient's chest and shave hair if necessary.
  5. The AED will instruct you exactly what you should do from here on including proper procedure of doing CPR.
