It was always a tradition when I was little that we watched the animated Christmas specials — Frosty the Snowman, Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
The Grinch story became my favorite. I liked how the story was narrated (by Boris Karloff), the setting and the characters
- the Grinch, Max his dog and Cindy-Lou Who.
So every year at Christmas we always looked forward to watching
as we anticipated Christmas drawing near.
As I got older, the moral of the story started to resonate with me.
Especially the line, "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store;
Maybe it means just a little bit more." And I loved that the Grinch's
heart grew when he realized this himself. Three sizes.
As an adult, I still make sure I watch How the Grinch Stole
Christmas. The ending always makes my own heart warm when
the Grinch finally understands what Christmas is about.
All of this started my 'collection' of Grinch items.
