Earlier this year Gallery resident Brian Graville hand crafted a beautiful guitar (seen below) for his friend Jamie McPherson. In return Brian asked if Jamie and his wife Joy (Side by Side) would perform a free concert for Gallery residents which they did on July 15.
Jamie is twice Canadian National Banjo Champion, has performed with Peter Appleyard, Jeff Healey, CBC Canadian Air Farce and is a regular member of The Ragweed Jazzband and the Hot Five Jazzmakers. Joy is an accomplished accordian player and a life member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. For forty nine years she ran the Joy Booth School of Dancing.
A crowd of approximately 45 people were singing and toe tapping along with many familiar tunes such as You Are My Sunshine - Peg of My Heart - Cheek to Cheek - and Bye, Bye Blackbird.
