A 20-year-old woman in Winnipeg has been given a $300 fine for throwing things in the direction of a Canada Goose that was blocking an apartment door entrance. As she learned the hard way, the squeaky but noble bird is protected by federal law, which means even if it’s in your way, you’ve got to shoo them off respectfully. 

 

There’s nothing more Canadian than being legally required to politely negotiate with a goose holding your front door hostage.
