The following was written by American Steve Schmidt:

Every American should appreciate the giant country that spans the North American continent from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the Rocky Mountains to the Arctic. She is the world’s oldest bilingual, pluralistic, parliamentary democracy and a force for human dignity, rights and liberty around the world. Wherever the Canadian maple leaf flies, it is as a symbol of tolerance, freedom and equality.  Every American should take a moment today and look north to our neighbors and wish them a happy day.

A big crowd of 79 people enjoyed a wonderful Canada Day event thanks to the very hard working Social Committee and all those who helped set up and put away.

The night before - Theresa Hartley, Susan Andrews, Brenda Robb, Crys Doupagne, Nancy McIntyre, Martha Jack, Brenda Robb & Goldie Cash hulled and sliced all the strawberries.

Goldie Cash chopped all the Cole Slaw and the Social Committee helped mix it.

Sandy Proach made 180 (yes you read that right) devilled eggs.

If it wasn't for everyone's hard work we would not have these wonderful events all year.  I hope everyone lets the Committee members know how much we appreciate them.

When I first saw this picture below I thought this group looked like they sprinkled something on our hamburgers - lol.

Thank you Nancy Hamilton, Paul Morrow, Ken Sproule and Julie Lange for BBQing the burgers!

I know I missed some of you, my apologies.

A message from Graeme Thompson:

"Here's hoping everyone had a great time today celebrating Canada.  Up here on Lake Teagami, it was a Canada Day party for one.  The wine of course was Canadian."
